2) what’s your opinion on lubes that “clean and lube at the same time” (i.e. stuff like the rock and roll lube)

2) I am immediately suspicious. I want to see the ingredients, and Rock n Roll lube don't list theirs on their website. They describe it as being able to easily clean off as it doesn't let dirt/crap penetrate, but if you don't regularly clean it then it's still going to exfoliate your components. Also - what is the protective membrane? Is it Teflon? I think it's better to have a lube that doesn't stick in the first place, i.e. a dry lube 👍

Just followed these instructions to the letter. Thanks for the advice. I usually drown my chain in lube and then painstakingly remove all the gunk a few months later. Here’s to fewer toothpicks going to waste!
