NEW MERCH WHO DIS
PHEW 😅 is black friday over yet? You know what that means…
WINTERVAL IS COMING
As our annual Winterval sale creeps up on us (starts 1 December!) we are cheating with a presale on our two new merch items: Rainbow Ombré Voile Straps and Buttery Soft Long Sleeve Cry Trying T-shirts.
Winterval is our one big sale of the year, which helps us get through the slow months of December and January. If you purchase an item, a class, a gift voucher, or become a paying supporter here on Substack, you’re helping us stay afloat!
🌈✨PRESALE: Rainbow Ombré Voile Straps
Ombré you say?
We’ve been out of 25” black Voile straps for a good long while now, (they are an expensive outlay) but we saved up enough pennies to order a whole batch of new ones - this time in a new rainbow ombré print.
They will be on sale for £10 until they arrive in our hot lil hands - that could be tomorrow, that could be Tuesday, that could be two weeks from now - who knows!?
Once they arrive price goes up to £13.
PRESALE: Long Sleeve Cry Trying T-shirts
Tired of scratchy Gildan shirts made with the tears of small children?
It's time for a change.
This is our first long sleeve t-shirt with a print on the front AND back.
Made by 'No Sweat', these are the most comradely t-shirts you could wear. And before you jump to 'there's no ethical consumption under capitalism', I'd like to point you towards their well rounded policies and ethics around their production, raw material sourcing, international garment worker campaigns, and eco-credentials.
Hoarder? I hardly know her!
Do you have a stash of padded envelopes in the closet? (Like me?) If so, we are in need of shipping envelopes in preparation for Winterval. You could do a lil destash and donate said envelopes and we would be much obliged. We're trying to be more resourceful and reuse things instead of buying them. Thank you!
In intersectional news…
Let’s learning about Christian Zionism!
It’s the guy behind the guy: religious extremist Christian Zionists have been fundamental in planning and orchestrating the genocide of Palestinians in order to bring about the rapture (they love that sh!t) - but don’t take it from me, Jewish Voice for Peace and Showing Up for Racial Justice are hosting a free online teach-in about Christian Zionism this Thursday 30 November.
“Hear from an expert panel– Palestinian Christian activist Jonathan Brenneman, Jewish researcher and writer Aiden Orly, and scholar of pentecostalism and the Christian far right Elle Hardy– who will share their analysis of how we got here and how our strategies to demand a ceasefire and fight for Palestinian liberation can be aided by a deeper understanding of the forces we’re up against.”
It’s at 8pm US east coast time, but there will be a recording sent to you if you sign up.
Don’t forget to BDS!
Boycott/Divest/Sanctions are some of the best ways to pressure for social change - hit em in the pocket book. We made our own Bike BDS list to illustrate that there are companies in our own industry that are complicit in supporting the genocide in Gaza. The Israeli Premier Tech cycling team is a propaganda tool, and anyone supporting them is also complicit in the ongoing violence. There is a full list on their website (scroll to the bottom).
There are plenty of other alternatives out there to these products:
Palestine’s Paracycling Team
The Amos Trust supports the Palestinian para-cycling team, the Gaza Sunbirds.
“We want to send a cycling team from Gaza to the Paralympics in France in 2024. By becoming backers of the Gaza Sunbirds team, you can help us get this project off to a flying start.”
Sadly they have been forced to refocus their efforts to help displaced Gazans.
You can donate here to support the Sunbirds. They have been using their bikes to transport much needed food and supplies to those in need. You can see their work on their Instagram page.
Get involved with The Big Ride for Palestine here. They are organising rides to show support and put pressure on Israel/the West for a true ceasefire.
That’s all for now friends.
More Winterval deals are coming…
I leave you with a short film about cycling in Gaza.
Ride on,
Jenni x
